APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #14-0058 FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY SYSTEMS: SERVICES, PARTS, CONSUMABLES, AND WINDOW FILM
Description
Bids to provide 'Safety and Security Systems: Services, Parts, Consumables, and Window Film' were received from eighteen vendors on June 12, 2013. The bids of Commercial Electrical Systems, Communication Installation and Service Company, Inc., dba COMCO, Data Flow Communications, EarthCam, Inc., Graybar, Integrated Systems of Florida, Inc., IRIS Ltd, Inc., NBI Suncontrol, Silmar Electronics, Inc., United Security Alliance, Inc., and Vision Database Systems were the best low bids meeting the advertised specifications. Reasons for not selecting the apparent low bids are included with the bid tabulation. This bid is for a period of one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. The funds for these purchases are contained in the operating and capital budgets allocated to the Safety and Security Department.
Recommendation
That the bids of Commercial Electrical Systems, Communication Installation and Service Company, Inc., dba COMCO, Data Flow Communications, EarthCam, Inc., Graybar, Integrated Systems of Florida, Inc., IRIS Ltd, Inc., NBI Suncontrol, Silmar Electronics, Inc., United Security Alliance, Inc., and Vision Database Systems, to provide 'Safety and Security Systems: Services, Parts, Consumables, and Window Film' in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00, be approved as presented.
